Bill, Dorothy, Daisy and Duke.
Bill and Dorothy came to the Comox Valley in 2005 looking for a more peaceful and nature based life style. Dorothy comes from a business background . When she retired , she volunteered with Food for the Hungry, doing needs assessments and project evaluations in Rwanda, Peru, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Viet Nam and Guatemala. Canada is home but Bill and Dorothy continue to be involved in a number of projects overseas.
Bill has had varied exciting careers including forest fire fighting and commercial diving. These days he runs a successful renovation business as well as an internet business.
One of our core beliefs is giving back to our local community as well as to the world at large in any way we can. For many years we have continued to sponsor a number of children who live in some of the poorest countries that Dorothy had a chance to visit during her time with Food for the Hungry. This organization empowers the children, their families and their communities to overcome poverty and injustice with education.
More close to home our local Habitat For Humanity receives all of Bill’s renovation supplies. We also run Hidden Springs Retreat, a vacation rental, that donates 10% of our proceeds to various charities. Partnering with the Cridge Centre out of Victoria, we give a much needed place of respite to parents of children with disabilities and special needs. So many guests have come back time and again to experience the magic and healing peace of Hidden Springs!
Hidden Springs is the culmination of a dream, a dream to create a place of tranquility and peace, a place where guests can leave the busy world for a short period of time and reconnect with nature and themselves. Bill and Dorothy are delighted to share this dream with you.
We continue to appreciate your support so much. Thank you!
